“Our Story: Travel That Transforms Communities and Nature”

Who We Are

Adhama Africa Adventures was founded on a simple yet profound vision: that tourism should enrich both the traveler and the host. The word "Adhama" translates to "Honor" or "Dignity" in Swahili. We operate exactly at this intersection, preserving the dignity of Tanzania's indigenous peoples while honoring its majestic landscapes.

Our Story & Timeline

Our journey began over a decade ago when a collective of local guides and community elders recognized the unequal benefits of traditional tourism. We set out to create an alternative model where rural villages, women's cooperatives, and local conservationists take center stage.

■ 2012: Founded by local guides and community elders in Arusha.
■ 2014: Established our first international partnership with a UK-based school
group.
■ 2016: Launched the Women’s Weaving Cooperative program, empowering female
artisans.
■ 2018: Reached our first major milestone of 1,000 travelers hosted.
■ 2020: Initiated the pandemic-response green project, planting our first 10,000
trees.
■ 2022: Received UNESCO recognition for cultural heritage preservation efforts.
■ 2024: Expanded operations to 6 major regions across Tanzania, exceeding 10,000
lifetime travelers.
