On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your driver will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you to Meru View Lodge, located near Usa River on the outskirts of Arusha.

After check-in, you can spend the rest of the day at your own pace—either relaxing at the lodge or heading into Arusha for a short visit (taxi required). In the evening, you will meet your trekking team for a full briefing, where you will receive all essential information about your upcoming climb. Dinner and overnight at Meru View Lodge.

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park. Once registration is complete, your trek on Mount Kilimanjaro begins, leading you into a dense and vibrant rainforest.

As you walk through the lush vegetation, you may spot black-and-white colobus monkeys moving through the trees. The trail is gentle and scenic, offering a comfortable introduction to the climb.

After 3 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Mandara Hut. After some rest, you will take a short walk to Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wide views toward Kenya.

Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.

After an early breakfast, you will leave Mandara Hut and continue your ascent on Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail soon reaches the tree line, where the dense forest gives way to open terrain with low shrubs and heath vegetation.

As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more expansive, offering wide views along the route. After about 5–6 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Horombo Hut. From here, you can enjoy clear views of Mawenzi, Kibo, and the open plains below. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization on Mount Kilimanjaro, an important step to help your body adjust to the altitude and improve your chances of reaching the summit.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will take a short hike to Zebra Rocks, known for their distinctive black and white striped appearance. This walk helps your body adapt while enjoying the surrounding scenery.

You will then return to Horombo Hut, where a warm lunch awaits. The afternoon is free to rest and regain energy ahead of the next stage of the climb.

Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Today is a longer and more demanding stage on Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail leads you past the “last water point” before entering the wide, dry plateau known as the saddle, which lies between Kibo and Mawenzi.

This area is open and largely without vegetation, offering a stark but impressive landscape. After about 5–6 hours of trekking, you will reach Kibo Hut.

After an early dinner, you will rest for a few hours, as your wake-up call for the summit attempt will be around 11:00 pm.

Today is your summit day on Mount Kilimanjaro. You will begin your ascent around midnight, when the volcanic ash is still firm, making the climb easier. Using headlamps, you will slowly make your way up the slopes of Kibo in the quiet darkness.

Passing Hans Meyer Cave (5220m), the trail continues steadily upward. At sunrise, you will reach Gilman’s Point (5681m) on the crater rim. From here, the final stretch along the ridge leads you to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After taking in the views and celebrating your achievement, you will begin your descent along the same route. Back at Kibo Hut, a warm meal and short rest await.

Later, you will continue down to Horombo Hut, arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

The final stage of your journey on Mount Kilimanjaro begins after breakfast with a traditional farewell from your mountain crew.

You will then descend for about 2–3 hours through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where your driver will be waiting. From there, you will be transferred back to Meru View Lodge.

After a hot shower, the rest of the day is yours to relax whether by the pool or simply enjoying and celebrating your achievement.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.

If you wish to extend your journey, you can continue exploring Tanzania with a safari experience or unwind along the beautiful beaches of the Indian Ocean.
