This 5-day Tanzania safari is the perfect choice for travelers seeking an authentic, well-balanced, and unforgettable safari experience with Adhama Africa Adventures.
After a short safari briefing in the morning, your Tanzania safari with Adhama Africa Adventures begins with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Northern Tanzania’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich destinations.
Tarangire is known for its vast tree-dotted savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal marshes that attract a wide variety of wildlife. The park is especially famous for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania, offering excellent opportunities for close-up encounters.
Upon arrival, your guide will open the roof of the safari vehicle, allowing for uninterrupted views as your game drive begins. As you explore the park, you are likely to see giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of antelopes and gazelles, all thriving within this diverse ecosystem.
You will enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site inside the park, surrounded by nature, before continuing with an afternoon game drive to discover even more of Tarangire’s rich wildlife and stunning landscapes.
In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and head to Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge, located just outside Tarangire National Park. Here, you will relax and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in a peaceful setting, preparing for the adventures ahead.
After breakfast, your Tanzania safari with Adhama Africa Adventures continues as you journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. Travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley, passing the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu and the lush highland town of Karatu, known for its cool climate and fertile landscapes.
As you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural landmarks. Continuing your journey around the crater rim, you will descend along a rugged road, passing traditional Maasai villages and experiencing the adventure of a true African safari drive.
At the Naabi Hill Gate, the main entrance to the Serengeti, you will have the opportunity to step out and enjoy spectacular views across the endless plains of the Serengeti savannah an iconic moment that truly captures the spirit of this world-famous park.
From here, continue your game drive toward the Seronera area in the central Serengeti, a region known for its rich wildlife and excellent year-round game viewing. The Serengeti is home to an incredible variety of animals, including the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and large herds of wildebeests.
Lunch will be enjoyed en route as you explore the park, making the journey itself part of the safari experience.
In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Kati Kati Tented Camp, located in a secluded area in the heart of the Serengeti. Surrounded by nature, this authentic camp offers a peaceful atmosphere and a true wilderness experience, with clear night skies filled with stars an unforgettable highlight of your Tanzania safari.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drives in the world-famous Serengeti National Park with Adhama Africa Adventures, one of Africa’s top safari destinations. This day is dedicated to exploring the vast plains and diverse habitats of the Serengeti, offering exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing.
You will have lunch at a scenic picnic spot inside the park, surrounded by nature, before continuing your safari adventure across this remarkable landscape.
Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Migration, one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles move across the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing and water. During the short rainy season in October and November, the herds typically move from the Masai Mara in Kenya into the northwestern Serengeti and down toward the southern plains. After the long rainy season from April to June, they gradually return toward the western and northern regions.
Because the migration depends on rainfall patterns, the exact timing and routes may vary each year. Your experienced safari guide will use expert knowledge to track the herds and take you to the best locations for viewing.
The presence of these large herds attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, and with some luck, you may witness dramatic wildlife interactions in real time—an unforgettable highlight of any Tanzania safari.
In the evening, return to Kati Kati Tented Camp for another overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
Important Note: If you travel between early January and mid-March, your overnight stay will be at Ndutu Kati Kati Tented Camp, located in the Ndutu area near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This location increases your chances of witnessing the Great Migration, as the herds often move between these regions during this period.
After breakfast at daybreak, your Tanzania safari with Adhama Africa Adventures continues as you depart the Serengeti and begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving behind the wildlife-rich Seronera Valley, you will enjoy a final game drive through the park, with a chance to spot predators that are often more active during the cooler morning hours.
Lunch will be enjoyed en route at a scenic picnic site before you arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. From here, the impressive 19-kilometre-wide caldera opens up before you, offering one of the most breathtaking views in Tanzania. You will then descend into the crater on a thrilling drive, entering a unique ecosystem recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including a wide range of birdlife, spotted hyenas, and the famous Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. This natural wildlife haven offers excellent opportunities for close-up game viewing in a compact and diverse environment.
After an extensive game drive across the crater floor, you will ascend via a different route and continue to the town of Karatu, located in the fertile Ngorongoro highlands.
In the evening, you will arrive at one of the beautifully located Tanganyika Wilderness Adventure Lodges, where you will spend the night in comfort, surrounded by peaceful landscapes and fresh highland air.
After a relaxing breakfast, your Tanzania safari with Adhama Africa Adventures comes to a memorable close as you begin your journey back to Arusha. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful highlands and rural landscapes, taking in the final views of Tanzania’s natural beauty.
Lunch will be enjoyed en route as you travel, arriving in Arusha around midday. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off either in the city centre or at the airport, depending on your travel plans.
For travelers wishing to extend their adventure, this is the perfect opportunity to continue to Zanzibar, with convenient flights available from Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport, allowing you to combine your wildlife safari with a relaxing beach holiday.
This marks the end of your unforgettable Tanzania safari, filled with incredible wildlife, stunning landscapes, and authentic experiences with Adhama Africa Adventures.
