Arrival in Arusha · Arusha Serena Hotel
Your Adhama safari representative will meet you at the agreed pickup point in Arusha and transfer you to Arusha Serena Hotel. After check-in, enjoy time to relax in the peaceful surroundings and prepare for the journey ahead.
Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day is at leisure. Your guide can brief you on the route, wildlife expectations and practical details for the safari.
Tarangire National Park · Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a game drive across landscapes known for ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands and large elephant herds. Look out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelope and predators that may be active along the river and open plains.
A picnic lunch will be arranged during the game drive. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park before travelling to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. Driving times vary with road and wildlife conditions.
Serengeti National Park · Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
After breakfast, travel towards Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying changing highland and savannah scenery. Depending on final routing and park conditions, enjoy game viewing as you enter the Serengeti.
The Serengeti is celebrated for its open grasslands and rich wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and vast herds of grazing animals. Arrive at the lodge, settle in and enjoy dinner.
Serengeti safari experience · Optional hot-air balloon
Spend another day exploring the Serengeti with your private guide. Depending on wildlife movements and your interests, you may focus on the central plains, kopjes, riverine areas or other accessible sections of the park. The extra day allows a more relaxed pace and additional opportunities for photography and wildlife observation.
Optional at sunrise: take a hot-air balloon safari over the Serengeti, followed by a celebratory bush breakfast where offered. Balloon flights are weather-dependent, must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. The supplement is USD 600 per person.
If you do not take the balloon flight, enjoy an early-morning game drive or a more leisurely start before continuing with safari activities.
Ngorongoro Crater and Karatu · Gibb’s Farm
Depart early for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, subject to park regulations and access conditions. The crater’s varied habitats support an impressive range of wildlife; sightings may include buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and lions. Black rhino sightings are possible but never guaranteed.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the crater visit. Later, ascend from the crater and continue to Karatu for a restorative stay at Gibb’s Farm, a historic coffee farm on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro highlands. Depending on arrival time, relax in the gardens or enjoy the lodge’s farm-to-table atmosphere.
Departure or Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer according to your confirmed travel arrangements. Options may include a road transfer to Arusha Airport for a domestic flight to Zanzibar, a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for an international departure, or another agreed onward connection.
Please provide flight details in advance so transfer timing can be planned appropriately. Flight tickets are not included unless specifically stated in the final quotation.

Serengeti Hot-Air Balloon Safari
A sunrise balloon flight offers a memorable aerial perspective over the Serengeti plains and wildlife habitat. The experience is optional, requires advance booking, and depends on weather, operator confirmation and availability. The rate is subject to reconfirmation, together with exact inclusions such as transfers and bush breakfast.
Important planning notes
- This is a proposed itinerary. Accommodation, room categories, park fees, flight connections and final pricing are confirmed for your actual travel dates.
- Day 5 combines the Ngorongoro Crater visit and onward travel to Gibb’s Farm. It is a full day, so an early start is important.
- The exact routing and time spent in each park depend on road conditions, park rules, wildlife movements and the final accommodation confirmation.
- Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The Great Migration’s location changes seasonally.
- Balloon safaris operate only when conditions permit and may be cancelled or rescheduled by the operator.
- For a confirmed Zanzibar departure, flight timing and transfer arrangements should be reviewed before finalising the itinerary.
