7-Day Tanzania Safari: Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti & Tarangire

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a restful evening as your safari briefing is provided by your guide. Overnight stay at your selected Arusha accommodation.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, a two-hour drive southwest. Known for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees, Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing, particularly during the dry season when animals gather near the Tarangire River. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and a full afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the park.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara – Karatu

Depart Tarangire and head to Lake Manyara National Park. This small but diverse park is home to tree-climbing lions, flocks of flamingos, and dense groundwater forests. Enjoy a half-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Later, proceed to the highlands of Karatu for overnight. Optional cultural walk or visit to a local market can be arranged upon arrival.

Day 4: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Spend the full day exploring the crater floor’s grasslands and woodlands, home to lions, hippos, black rhinos, zebras, and countless bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool. In the late afternoon, return to your lodge on the crater rim or in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Karatu – Serengeti National Park (Central)

Depart for the Serengeti after breakfast, driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with stops at scenic viewpoints along the way. Arrive at the Central Serengeti (Seronera region) in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive in one of the world’s most famous wildlife areas, known for its year-round predator action and great migration. Overnight at a tented camp or lodge in the central Serengeti.

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s vast savannahs. Depending on the season, your guide will lead you toward migration hotspots or predator territories. Morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled with a packed lunch in the bush or hot lunch at camp. Return in the evening to your lodge for dinner and storytelling around the campfire.

Day 7: Serengeti – Arusha – Departure

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive en route to Seronera Airstrip for a scenic bush flight back to Arusha. On arrival, transfer to a local restaurant for lunch or directly to the airport for your international flight home. Optional day room or hotel stay available at extra cost if you have a late departure.
